Direct services are primarily conducted in the Castries office. The clinic offers tests for blood sugar, blood pressure, cholesterol, urine analysis, and body mass index, as well as one-on-one personal counseling. Basic foot care is also offered. Because individuals have one-on-one interaction, the SLDHA is able to give very personal advice on how to better improve diet and exercise, as well as treating related complications.

The St. Lucia Diabetes & Hypertension Association (SLDHA) was conceptualized on August 9, 1983 and nationally launched in April, 1989. It was established to attend to the welfare of diabetic and hypertensive individuals in St. Lucia, as well as to provide service to the general public.
